- Make one entry for each season or group of episodes, e.g. Black Mirror (season 1). Episodic games can be grouped similarly. To preserve information about the year of publication, don't group episodes that are more than two years apart. Use the publication year of the first work.
- If a particular genre or style or type of situation is found again and again without leading to new insights, we can view it as having reaching a saturation point, and may choose to stop entering this kind of work or situation in the database. When you do this, please add it to the Saturated List.
- A situation can in some cases be connected to more than one work. For instance, if the Tardis was a machine vision technology, we could have one situation for the Tardis that was connected to multiple seasons of Doctor Who.
- If a work exists for several platforms (e.g. a game on two platforms, or a book made into a movie) we log ONE example, unless there are important differences between the two.
- Science fiction works should be labeled as such. Science fiction tagging guidelines can be found here.
Note on the editorial status: The default when you create a new work is "draft". This means that you're still working on it. When you have entered the Work, the Situation(s) and possibly Characters, you can change the status to either "Needs discussion" (you're unsure about this and want a second opinion) or "One person feels OK with this" (self-explanatory?). If two people agree on all connections to a Work, change the status to "Two or more people have agreed upon this". You can also retag a Work with "Needs discussion" if you see something that needs to be discussed, even if you haven't entered it.
