Works should be labeled as science fiction if:
- they are set in a speculative/imagined future, including the near future
- include imagined technologies that did not exist when the work was created, or speculative uses of current technologies
- dystopias/utopias set in the future should always be labeled as science fiction
- works set in an imagined past should generally not be labeled as science fiction, unless it focuses heavily on speculation + technology
