What a wonderful world …
With our current monetary system we are on our way to ruin our planet and thereby also ourselves. With currencies like Gradido there will be lots of value generated per person as sustainability income. This value builds a fund, that can only be used for sustainable projects (to plant trees, to take plastic out of the oceans, etc.). It is the same amount as the entire community income of the world by design. This simply means one thing:
There is no more excuse not to save our planet!
All transactions transfering tokens from the sustainability fund to someone else are transparent on the public ledger. There is a law forcing that only certified companies can receive it and they make their public key visible and can not stay anonymous. Everybody can see which company received what amount of money. Everybody can control that the money is actually used for what it is designated for: sustainability. The government has to operate and pay companies that control this and do the certification of sustainable companies according to strict and transparent rules.
We have been discussing the for a long time but came to the believe that sustainability income is very hard to implement but actually not needed to save our economy:

There are many historic examples where people intervened even with good intentions to help nature but on the long run even caused more harm. Of course there are many positive projects ebout e.g. re-naturation. However, it is very tricky to decide. So how should we decide? Gradido does not give answers here.

Implementing this into e.g. (digital) currency causes immense complexity and would require political institutions making such decisions what is sustainable and certify companies.

And how would you deal with the question if a companies was certified and then does something bad? Would you revoke the certification with immediate implications on transactions?
After all this is causing immense problems, questions, and complexity. We instead came to the believe that it is smarter to let give the people a real democracy so all the people decide rather than a political institution that might end up with lobbying and bribe. If the majority of the people understands that we have to rescue our planet and they also have the power (in form of value or Thanks) to do so, this will be sufficient.
