Feature Request: Log response code

The mod_statsd project for Apache provides very detailed statistics by logging every hit and it's response code.

By default, they have them by individual page types, but I roll up to the top level domain to get the following entries, which I find extremely useful.

www_hostname_com.GET.200.count
www_hostname_com.GET.403.count
www_hostname_com.GET.404.count
www_hostname_com.POST.200.count

Is it possible to duplicate this functionality?

You can do something like that:

statsd_count "$hostname.$request_method.$status.count" 1 ;
