Dexcom G7/G6 Display for Tidbyt

Summary

A Tidbyt application that displays real-time continuous glucose monitor (CGM) data from Dexcom G7/G6 devices with
color-coded displays, trend arrows, and intelligent stale data detection.

Context

Inspired by this Reddit post about creating custom displays for blood sugar monitoring. This implementation uses the unofficial Dexcom Share API, modeled after the pydexcom library.

What the App Does

Retrieves real-time glucose data from Dexcom Share servers and displays it on your Tidbyt with:

  • Color-coded glucose readings: Green (normal), Red (low/urgent), Orange (high), Gray (stale data)
  • Trend arrows: Shows glucose direction (↑↑, ↑, →, ↓, ↓↓)
  • Time tracking: Minutes since last reading with 10-minute stale data window
  • Multi-region support: US, International, and Japan servers

Notes

  • Unofficial app not affiliated with Dexcom, Inc.
  • Requires Dexcom Share enabled with at least one follower
  • Not intended for medical decisions - use at your own risk
