Somanshu Bhardwaj — physics, scientific computing and web development

CURRENT ORBIT  ·   SELECTED WORK  ·   INSTRUMENTS  ·   BEYOND CODE

I use physics to ask better questions, code to test them, and design to make the answers legible.

I’m interested in the moment when an abstract idea becomes something observable.

I’m pursuing a B.Tech in Engineering Physics at NIT Hamirpur. I enjoy work that begins with “I don’t know” and ends with something observable: a model, an experiment, a piece of software, or occasionally a better question.

My interests do not fit neatly into one label.

01 / CURRENT ORBIT

I recently completed a research internship at the Space Applications Centre, ISRO (May–July 2026), studying the Jezero Crater subsurface using RIMFAX, the ground-penetrating radar aboard NASA’s Perseverance rover.

I developed a Python-based processing pipeline for radargram generation, diffraction-hyperbola detection, and subsurface dielectric-property analysis.

I’m pursuing this work alongside my B.Tech at NIT Hamirpur (August 2023–July 2027, CGPI 7.68).

02 / SELECTED WORK

01 — A RIMFAX analysis pipeline

Built at SAC, ISRO to process NASA Perseverance rover radar data, generate radargrams, detect diffraction hyperbolas, and support dielectric-property analysis. Python · RIMFAX · radar-data analysis

02 — NIMBUS Website

Designed and developed the website for NIMBUS, NIT Hamirpur’s national-level technical festival, from initial design through testing and deployment. React · JavaScript · Three.js

03 — HILL’FFAIR 2024 Website

Designed and developed the cultural festival website for HILL’FFAIR at NIT Hamirpur, including responsive interface work, testing, and deployment. React · JavaScript · web development

03 / INSTRUMENTS

The tools change. The habits do not.

scientific Python · MATLAB · NumPy · pandas · Matplotlib · Jupyter Notebook
web            JavaScript · React · Next.js · Three.js
tools Git · GitHub · Visual Studio Code
technical signal processing · radar-data analysis · numerical computation · mathematical modelling

I care more about why a method works than whether it produces a pretty plot. I care about the plot too—but in that order.

04 / BEYOND CODE

I currently serve as Secretary, Team Pixonoids at NIT Hamirpur (July 2026–present). Previously, I was Co-Convener, Team Pixonoids (July–November 2025), coordinated media and promotion for NIMBUS 2026 (October 2025–April 2026), and contributed to the organizing team for TEDxNIT Hamirpur 2026 (October 2025–April 2026).

I enjoy the work behind the scenes: coordinating people, making technical ideas legible, and helping ambitious campus projects reach an audience.

05 / NEXT VECTOR

  • software development that solves concrete problems;
  • scientific data analysis and research workflows;
  • interfaces that make complex systems easier to think about;
  • engineering collaborations grounded in evidence and problem-solving.

If your project lives somewhere in that space, I would like to hear about it.
