v1.1.0
Quota v1.1.0
This release adds two quality-of-life features that make Quota genuinely useful as a background utility: system tray support so the app stays running when you close the window, and opt-in desktop notifications so you know when a quota is getting low without having to check manually.
What's New
System Tray
Quota now sits in the system tray when the window is closed. The process keeps running, which means auto refresh keeps ticking in the background.
- Close the window → Quota hides to the tray instead of quitting
- Left-click the tray icon → window restores and focuses
- Right-click the tray icon → context menu with Show Quota and Quit Quota
- The only way to fully exit is Quit Quota from the tray menu
This pairs well with auto refresh. Set a refresh interval, close the window, and Quota quietly keeps your quota data current in the background.
Desktop Notifications
You can now get a native desktop notification when any connected quota drops below a threshold you set.
- Toggle notifications on from Settings → Notifications
- Set your threshold — default is 20% remaining, adjustable from 1% to 99%
- Quota fires one notification per quota drop, not one per refresh tick
- Once a quota recovers above the threshold, the alert clears and will fire again if it drops again
- Covers all six providers: GitHub Copilot, Codex, Antigravity, Claude Code, Kiro, and Cursor
Notifications work independently of auto refresh. You can trigger them through manual refreshes too, but they're most useful when auto refresh is running in the background via the system tray.
Notes
- System tray and notifications require no additional setup — both are built into the Tauri shell.
- Notification permission is requested automatically the first time you enable the setting.
- Quota still stores all account data locally under
~/.quota. Nothing about data handling has changed.
Linux System Requirements
The AppImage requires Ubuntu 22.04 or newer (or an equivalent modern distro). This is a Tauri v2 constraint — it needs libwebkit2gtk-4.1, which ships on Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 38+, Arch, and most distros released in 2022 or later. Ubuntu 20.04 and older are not supported without manual patching.
The .deb and .rpm packages use your system's own libraries and will work as long as your distro provides libwebkit2gtk-4.1 as a package.
