[Bug]: terminal fails with "the environment request failed" after updating to latest nightly

Steps to reproduce

1. update t3code to the latest Nightly build.
2. open any project/workspace.
3. open a new terminal tab.
4. the terminal fails to start and shows: [terminal] The environment request failed.

Expected behavior

a new terminal should open normally and be ready to use, as it did before the Nightly update.

Actual behavior

the terminal fails to start and displays the following error:

[terminal] The environment request failed.

this happens every time I try to open a terminal after updating to the latest Nightly build.
