Funbots Overview

Initially, funbots is designed as a Baymax (from Big Hero 6 movie) character that could,

  • take picture of a person
  • depend on the emotion of the person, say something to this person
  • move an arm to deliver items to the person if needed

Technologies Used

  • Raspberry Pi + Camera + Button + speaker + (potentially) microphone + (potentially) infra-red sensors
  • Rasbian OS
  • Python 3
  • Google Web Services (Vision and potentially Speech Recognition)

Use Cases:

Hiro comes to Baymax and he clicks on the button on Baymax's chest. Baymax will take a picture of Hiro. Depending on the emotion of Hiro, Baymax will do one of the following:

  • anger: "Take a deep breath, "
  • sorrow: "Turn that frown up side down and have a Lollipop", turn the arm with the lollipop, wait for 10 seconds, and turn the arm back.
  • joy: "You are happy, Have a lollipop", turn the arm with the lollipop, wait for 10 seconds, and turn the arm back.
  • surprise: "Surprise"
