cmake fails to create the silo_f77.inc symlink #501
This line fails to create a symlink in the STAGEDIR.
cmake itself can't properly install files into the stagedir because it doesn't know what STAGEDIR is at the time of configuration.
You should create this symlink during build and then install it using the cmake's install instruction.
Hmm....not seeing this in the various places I build and install. For example, with Silo-4.12.0.tar.gz, cmake 3.28 on ubuntu 24.04...
tar xvf Silo-4.12.0.tar.gz
cd Silo-4.12.0
mkdir cmake_build
cd cmake_build
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`pwd`/my_install -DSILO_BUILD_FOR_BSD_LICENSE:BOOL=OFF \
-DSILO_ENABLE_HDF5:BOOL=ON -DSILO_ENABLE_FPZIP:BOOL=ON -DBUILD_TESTING:BOOL=ON \
-DSILO_HDF5_DIR:PATH=/mnt/nvme/mark/silo/hdf5-2.0.0/cmake_build/my_install \
-DSILO_ENABLE_SILOCK:BOOL=ON -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE:STRING=Release -DSILO_ENABLE_PYTHON_MODULE:BOOL=ON \
-DSILO_ENABLE_INSTALL_LITE_HEADERS=ON -DSILO_ENABLE_HZIP:BOOL=ON -DSILO_ENABLE_ZFP:BOOL=ON ..
make -k -j 8 install
ls -l my_install/include

@yurivict I was hoping my attempts to communicate here would result in more than just a one word response...maybe some details about what is going wrong at your end. As you can see, I am not reproducing the behavior you see. And, I have no more details to go on. Can you please provide more details? Like, cmake version and command you've given to Silo? What do you mean by STAGEDIR? The line you refer to does not have any reference to a CMake variable named STAGEDIR. Anything else you can think of that might result in different behavior than what I am seeing (in multiple different places I have tried it now).

Is this report by any chance in relation to Spack?
