Hey everyone, I have been working in other domains and have not had enough time to maintain this package, so I would like to find a new project owner. It is a labor of love, so don't take it on unless you're going to follow through with it. I'll mention those who have contributed to this project so that you will receive a notification.

Sorry for not responding. I was actually hoping that someone else may take over your package.
I already took over 4 packages from other publishers and hence I am not too sure whether I would be able to give your project the proper attention that it needs and deserves.
The only "real" offer I can make is: I can "take it over temporarily" to give it at least some maintenance and keeps its code clean, updated and working.
However, you will probably not see too many new features implemented by me and also only rather sporadic updates (probably once every week or so at most).
Better than nothing at least, but it would be too sad to see this package go.

Either way, thank you very much for your continued efforts in keeping the package updated this far!

@ThexXTURBOXx thanks for responding. One other person reached out (@Bungeefan), with roughly the same message as you. Since you are ok with being an emergency maintainer, I will add you to the package and you can do whatever you have the bandwidth to do. If that ends up being nothing, no worries. But at least it will be there if you find a little spare time here or there.

I opened some PRs for some of the more important things I have noticed this far.
Could either of you @jonbhanson @Bungeefan maybe look at them if you find the time?
I don't just want to merge them without someone else looking over them...

And when it's time for a new update, I will ping you again @jonbhanson - is that okay for you?

As long as they don't show interest in taking over maintenance, this probably won't happen. The plus_plugins team may also be am option. But again, if noone shows interest in taking over development, nothing will probably be done.
As far as I can tell, there isn't really much that is currently lacking in this project, though. Without bugs that need fixes, I don't see the point to push an update anyway.
The only real open issues are proper tests for #777 and #825. Since I do not own iOS devices, I cannot test those properly and will not merge them because of this. I could test #817 on the other hand and merge it. With this, at least something could be done, which is worth an update

I use this package in all my flutter projects. I could join the maintenance team, with caveats: I might only do the Android part and might only prioritize the bugs over features, on my spare times. could tag me when hot fixes needed.

I'll also add that anyone is welcome to make pull requests. A lot of the improvements to the package have come through that way, and the current collaborators all contributed PRs.
