Since Lucia Auth is turning to become a learning resource, might be worth having a look at updating to a different auth solution.

I see Better Auth and Stack Auth as two worthy solutions.
Describe alternatives you've considered
WE could use Next Auth (Auth.js) - however it has its drawbacks such as no auth engine expose to API such that you easily can login from a mobile app.
