What is RTP?
RTP (Robot Task Protocol) is an open standard that defines a common language for AI agents to discover, commission, and pay for physical robot tasks over the internet. It sits on top of the x402 payment protocol and extends it into the physical world.
Any robot, drone, IoT device, or machine can register on an RTP gateway. AI agents discover them via
.well-known/x402.json, pay USDC per task, and receive standardized results with escrow handling the payment lifecycle. Why it fits awesome-depin
RTP is the payment + task dispatch layer for the machine economy. It's complementary to identity layers (peaq) and spatial coordination (Auki) — handling how agents actually hire and pay devices to do physical work.
