My name is Daragh, I'm a PhD student at Dunsink Observatory, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) - specifically working in the Planetary Magnetospheres group. I study Mercury's magnetosphere and its interaction with the solar environment through the analysis of large data-sets from many ESA and NASA spacecraft, including MESSENGER, Solar Orbiter, Parker Solar Probe, and others. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of ESA/JAXA's BepiColombo.
I am a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholar, fully funded by Taighde Éireann - Research Ireland.
- BepiColombo Magnetospheric Region Prediction - A statistical tool to quantify BepiColombo's (or any other near-Mercury spacecraft's) likelihood of observing solar wind, magnetosheath, and magnetosphere as a function of position or time.
- MESSENGER Magnetospheric Region Classifier - A machine learning tool to classify magnetospheric region based on MESSENGER MAG and Ephemeris data.
- hermpy - A work-in-progress Python package to aid in data access, analysis, and visualisation for planetary science (with a focus on Mercury).
