About the pull request

Allows marine jackets to hold detectors (motion and data) on their suit storage slots.

List of affected jackets:

  • All marine service/dress/formal jackets
  • All RMC and IASF jackets (except IASF combat jacket which already could)
  • M70 flak jacket
  • M70B1 light flak jacket
  • Quartermaster jacket
  • Military police service jackets
  • Tanker jacket
  • Mess technician jacket
  • Combat correspondent jacket
  • All of CL's vests/jackets

If maintainers want we could exclude the more non-combatant ones.

Explain why it's good for the game

Majority of outerwear already allows holding detectors, its strange that ones that numerous marine roles wear dont.
Less IOs running around in labcoats (or any other civilian clothing looted off of colonist bodies)

...or remove MD from labcoat

When I play DP I take M3-VL that gives me a slowdown but allows me to carry an MD in the suit slot, allowing me also to carry medbelt in the belt slot. That feels like a trade-off over other options. Just powercreeping it by allowing every jacket to carry the thing that is often the only meaningful trade-off is weird. Again, makes more sense to me to remove the (probably oversight) exceptions.

but why? how is it powercreeping? the entire issue exists because of how suit storage is a special snowflake whitelist for every kind of uniform

Because jackets are meant to have a downside? Not being able to hold some items that armor can hold. Expanding the "snowflake whitelist" is powercreep by the very definition of the word.
