The purpose of this project is to detect blackfish species in the Hawaiian Archipelago using long-term passive acoustic data. Multiple data sets are being used for this project including SanctSound data recorded in the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (HIHWNMS) and High Frequncy Acoustic Recording Package (HARP) data from the Pacific Island Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Cetacean Research Program (CRP).
This project is led by Brijonnay Madrigal in collaboration with the HIHWNMS (Marc Lammers/Eden Zang) and PIFSC CRP(Erin Oleson/Jennifer McCullough/Yvonne Barkley) and funded through the NOAA Dr. Nancy Foster Program.
