Jiggler "Zen mode" not functioning on MacOS 26.0 (Tahoe) #34
Description
Activity
Usually this turns out to be an error in preferences settings, or Jiggler is not active (no checkmark next to "Jiggler Enabled" in its menu, and a dimmed icon in the menu bar, meaning that it is not enabled). But maybe Apple has actually broken Jiggler; always possible. I don't have any cycles to look into it for a while, and I'm not on this macOS version anyway so I can't look into it anyway, sorry.

Hi @sonoptik. Did you check the above things? Preferences settings, and that there is a checkmark next to "Jiggler Enabled" in its menu? I'd like to know with some certainty whether it is really broken on Tahoe or not. Thanks.
Also, to folks encountering this issue: note that since Jiggler is open-source on GitHub, if you're a developer you could fix the problem and submit a pull request. That would be quite helpful, as I don't have the cycles to devote to Jiggler these days. I'd be happy to add your name to the credits if you do the work to keep it limping along. :-O
It looks like Zen mode no longer works with macOS Tahoe. Standard mode continues to work as usual.
Reacted by Ben Haller, Rusty Myers, Andy Jordan, Andres, br1nqq, This is S Yu, craigyoung, Stefano and Paul RosenbergHello, I’ve noticed that the Jiggler (1.9) app is no longer functioning properly. No matter how I adjust the settings, Zen mode doesn’t work as it used to. It stopped working after I updated my software to MacOS Tahoe (version 26). I am not using a beta OS. I've tried disabling and enabling Jiggler on the Jiggler menu, turning Jiggler on and off in system preferences/privacy and security/Jiggler to permit the app to use my machine, deleting the app and adding back. Nothing works to enable Zen mode. Standard Jiggle appears to work fine but Zen mode is what I use and so do many others. Id be so grateful to get this fixed.

I tested this on 26.0.1 and it is working. The only thing which is not working is Zenclick - resetting system idle time. Other options like click or wiggle are still functional.
Please update for the zen click too, it's by far the best option. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions from my testing.
Many thanks.Reacted by Ben Haller- changed the title
[-]Jiggler not functioning on MacOS 26.0 Beta (25A5316i)[/-][+]Jiggler "Zen mode" not functioning on MacOS 26.0 (Tahoe)[/+]on Oct 13, 2025 I updated the title to reflect what appears to be the situation. "Zen mode" jiggle depends upon APIs provided by macOS that tell the system to stay awake. Apple appears to have broken those calls, and I don't have the cycles to figure out why, or how to fix it (and I'm not on Tahoe anyway, and won't be for some time). It would be great to get a pull request from somebody to fix this problem.
Just opened a PR #36 and as luck would have it, I didn't check that PR #35 was already opened... Sorry @MarinSavca
I did do a few different fixes:
- Overlay appeared off to the right in Sequoia and Tahoe
- Accessibility constantly being requested in Tahoe even when already allowed in System Preferences during Debug and such
- Took a little bit of a different approach to fix Zen jiggle in Tahoe
- Added logic to
#define NSLogdifferently in production builds so no one has to comment/uncomment them
Reacted by Ben HallerThanks @kumichou! This sounds great. I'll get to these PRs as soon as I can; I apologize for the delay, I'm really swamped and stressed right now. :-<
Reacted by Eric Hankinson@bhaller Tahoe was still blanking the screen eventually so I incorporated the fix from @MarinSavca which fixes the eventual sleep issue I was encountering after my original fix
Reacted by Ben HallerHello, any updates on getting Zen jiggle working with MacOS Tahoe 26? Looks like the last post was from October 22. I'd greatly appreciate it. @bhaller
This issue was fixed by @MarinSavca and @kumichou; thanks very much to both of them for their work! The Jiggler 1.10 release is now available on the Releases tab (https://github.com/bhaller/Jiggler/releases/tag/v1.10), and you can download it directly from there. It'll be up on the Stick Software website soon. Sorry that it took so long to get a fix out; I'm not on Tahoe myself yet so I couldn't reproduce it or test it, and life is quite busy lately. Please comment and reopen if it appears that the new version doesn't fix the problem. Thanks for the helpful comments above.
Reacted by Darryl ReedUnfortunately, a user reports that this issue is not fixed in Jiggler 1.10. User report: "Just FYI - after installing v1.10 on Macbook Pro 2021 (M1 Max processor and iOS Version 26.1 (25B78)) - the "Zen jiggle" functionality is still not working. The other two options work as expected." Reopening. I am not on Tahoe yet, and don't expect to be for some time yet, so I can't investigate this myself. Tagging @MarinSavca and @kumichou since they provided the fix that shipped in 1.10 (which might very well have fixed the issue for some users, but apparently not for all).
Others who are reading this: it would be very useful for you to post here on whether Zen jiggle now works correctly for you on Tahoe. Please post details about your system that might illuminate why your experience with Zen jiggle might be different from that of others (macOS version, hardware, any other weird software you're running that might interfere with Jiggler, any usual accessibility system settings you use), a snapshot of your Jiggler preferences panel, whether you notice anything specific about Jiggler's behavior that might be relevant (does the overlay window with Jiggler's icon display when Zen jiggling? does the icon in the menu bar turn green?). Also specify whether Zen jiggle fails to prevent screensaver activation, display sleep, system sleep, or all three.
Let's get to the bottom of this!
Hi Everyone, I am the one who reported that Zen jiggle is still not working properly.
A little more details:
- the Zen jiggle DOES prevent MacOS from going into sleep (i.e. my screen does not turn off), but...
- it DOES NOT prevent MS Teams from moving from "Available" to "Away" state. I even tried to set "Teams" as a condition in the setting... still does not work as expected.
Please, let me know if I can help with more details.

Aha, I see. OK. That means that this issue, which was about "Zen mode" not working at all on Tahoe, is in fact fixed. I've opened a new issue for this problem with Teams at #43 and will follow up there.
To those reading this thread: if you see a problem with Jiggler's "Zen mode" failing to keep your machine awake at all, please reopen and comment as discussed above. For an issue with Teams specifically, please see issue #43. Thanks!
