Installed distributions from a flat index can be reused through both preferred-version and unpreferred resolver candidates. Extend the optional-metadata qualification to install the source fixture as a registry package and exercise ordinary and
--upgradeselection, changed build settings, malformed sidecars, and required artifact hashes. This separates known-corrupt metadata from genuinely absent legacy records and the broader registry build-settings policy.
