Q0. How to know the version number of the app that I have on my phone?

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> More -> About.
3. Look at the 'Version' section.

Q1. How to enable sync on mobile data?

By default, the app will NOT sync any comics if you are only on mobile data! It has been setup this way because, mobile-data transfer is lot more costly compared to that on wifi. So, please make sure that you are OK with enabling sync over mobile data, before proceeding further!

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> Settings.
3. Enable 'Mobile network'

Q2. How to enable/disable background-sync?

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> Settings
3. Enable Caching

Q3. Latest comics are not still loading for me?

Even after enabling the 'Background Sync' feature, latest comics still get downloaded when I open the comic.

1. If you are using some kind of 'Task-Killer' app:

   Please make sure that ComicReader is NOT in the auto-kill list.

   If you dont do this, the background process responsible for syncing the comics at regular intervals will not get launched. This is causing the latest comics to be stuck at some old date.

2. Make sure you are connected to internet (either through wifi or mobile-data)

3. If you are on mobile-data, make sure that you enable sync on mobile data! (Read the answer to Q1 for more details on this)

4. Launch the app

5. Menu -> Sync now.

6. This should start caching with the 'ComicReader' notification icon appearing on the top left corner of your status bar.

7. Wait till the caching is over (you'll get a notification saying that the caching is complete) and then try opening your favorite comic.

8. Please do note that the caching time is a function of number of favorite comics in the list. So, if you follow a large number of comics, the first time sync will generally take several minutes (depending upon your connection-speed).

9. But the subsequent caches will be pretty fast.

10. In case you still see issues or app force-close, please delete App Data in phone/tablet's settings and try again (Settings -> Application -> Manage Applications -> Comic Reader -> Clear Data).

Q4. How to setup when to sync the comic strips?

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> Settings -> 'Cache Start Time'

Q5. How to increase the frequency of sync per day?

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> Settings -> 'Cache Frequency'

Q6. I don't have Wifi, can I use mobile-data (2G/3G/4G) for background caching?

Definitely you can! Look at the answer for Q1.

Q7. I want to add a comic into my favorite list. But before that I want to preview some strips from this comic series. Can I do that?

Ofcourse! Do the following:

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> Select Comics
3. Scroll to the comic of your interest.
4. Press on the rightmost button for that comic.

Q8. I hate the default sort order of comics as presented by the app. Can I change it?

Definitely! Just do the following:

1. Launch the app.
2. Menu -> Settings -> Sort (My Comics) [for changing the ordering of favorite comics]
3. Menu -> Settings -> Sort (All Comics) [for changing the ordering in the select comics]

Q9. Comics like xkcd have image hover text. How can I view it in this app?

If a comic series has image hover text, then, when you open that comic in our app, you'll see a textbox-like button coming up (when you touch the screen), at the bottom row of the screen. (Left of the star-button). Just touch it to read the text. However, if the comic doesn't support this feature, then there'll be no such button!

Q10. I don't have multi-touch support. How can I zoom in/out the strips?

1. There are on-screen zoom in/out buttons.
2. Just tap the screen which the comic strips loads.
3. You'll see, at the bottom row of the screen, a '-' and '+' buttons.
4. Just touch them adjust the zoom.

Q11. I like a strip. How can I share it with my friends?

1. When the comic strip loads on the screen, just touch the screen.
2. At the bottom row, you'll see a double headed arrow, just right to the 'star' button.
3. Just touch it to choose your 'medium' of sharing the strip!

Q12. Any documentation on the usage of this app?

Q13. I'm seeing a dailyink ad in place of my comic strips?

1. Please update the app to version 2.1.1 (or above, in future).
2. Menu -> More -> Clear All Cache
3. Restart the app an wait for the background sync to proceed (in case you have enabled it)
4. If you have disabled background sync, just open the comic of your interest. Even if this still is not solving your problem, please file an issue against us from here.

Q14. Whenever I open the app, I get an error message and the screen goes blank

1. Launch the app
2. Wait for the error message to go away
3. Menu -> More -> Clear All Cache
