HOWTO: Bonding

Howto setup bonding

• Create bonding modprobe conf

• mode1 = failover bond

• copy the primary interface /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-$INTERFACE file to /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-$BOND, edit and configure bond name

• add this line to the bond files, set the mode

BONDING_OPTS="mode=1 miimon=80 primary=em4"

• edit the member interface, set to BOOTPROTO=none, ensure ONBOOT=yes and add:

SLAVE=yes
MASTER=$BOND
