Is this modpack similar to Additive?

Kind of.

The goal of this modpack is to be as minimalistic as possible and support all OptiFine Features without adding any QOL mods.

Will SIF provide Quilt versions?

Very unlikely.

If I create Quilt versions of this modpack, the load of updates would almost double. As of 26.04.24, I would have to maintain 13 versions. There are very small differences between Quilt and Fabric (LambdaBetterGrass and OkZoomer) and I don't see the point in maintaining them, so you can create this version for yourself.

Additionally, Quilt updates slower.

What mods from SO have been removed and why?

Noisium - basically placebo even in 1.20.1.

Very Many Players - has a very few optimizations for client, some of them break mods, and it's not very sustainable for client use.

What are some of the config changes?

Currently, there's 10 mods from SO that received config changes - BadOptimizations, C2ME, EntityCulling, ImmediatelyFast, Lithium, ModernFix, More Culling, No Chat Reports, Sodium and ThreadTweak. Its mainly done for better compatibility and experience.

BadOptimizations - Lightmap updates is set to 20 to not look jittery.

C2ME - compatibilityMode is set to true (default). syncPlayerTickets is also set to true (default).

EntityCulling - sleepDelay is set to 50 to not look too slow.

ImmediatelyFast - Sign Text Buffering is disabled. That experimental optimization breaks Unicode characters. You can re-enable it with this addition to ImmediatelyFast config:

"experimental_sign_text_buffering": true

experimental_universal_hud_batching is also disabled for better mod compatibility.

Lithium - experimental optimizations are disabled for safety.

ModernFix - deduplicate_location is disabled due to lags with dynamic lighting when using BetterGrassify x LambDynamicLights; dynamic_resources is disabled from 1.21.1 and up, as it causing issues with Enhanced Block Enities.

More Culling - In 1.19.4 and up, Entity Model Culling is disabled (should disable itself when sodium is installed, but it doesn't, causing issues with entities).
In 1.20.1, Custom Item Frame Renderer and Powder Snow Culling are disabled. Custom Item Frame Renderer doesn't improve performance much, often causing regressions. Powder Snow Culling breaks powder snow ability to let light through.
In 1.20.1 and up, BlockState Culling is disabled due to various issues (incorrect culling, 3D trapdoors problems and such). Old configs for related options are not deleted, so you can enable it back if you want.
Leaves culling is set to Check Surrounding to look better (will affect if you turn on BlockState Culling).

No Chat Reports - Server Safety and Encryption buttons are disabled.

Sodium - Removed CPU render ahead limit override.

ThreadTweak - New custom priorities: 4 3 1 1 4

Can I use SIF/parts of it as a base for my modpack?

Yes, as long as you provide credit where it's visible. A note at the end of your modpack's page, linking back to SIF, is enough.

I've encountered a bug, what do I do?

Test it on pure SO. if the bug appears on SO - Report it to them (SO CodeBerg or Discord Server). If this is a SIF bug, report it to Issues.
