1. Copy the index.md and manifest.json to tempoary file
2. Checkout the v4 branch
3. Create a new branch from the v4 git checkout -B new_branch
4. Create a v4 directory in your recipe
5. Copy the index.md and manifest.json to the v4 directory
6. In the recipe directory rename index.md to recipe.md
7. Copy https://github.com/IIIF/cookbook-recipes/blob/v4/recipe/0001-mvm-image/index.md to your recipe
8. Update the header metadata to match your recipe.
9. Push your branch to this repo
10. Open a new pull request with this branch.
11. Close this pull request

Note that recipe 0253 does not have a v3 version. This needs to be figured out how to address before we can create a new pull request and close this one.
