The yaml library supports reading in a yaml file (such as the template), another file (such as the old bridgeData), setting the values accordingly, and then writing out the merged file out retaining all of the comments from the template. This should be suggested to the worker operator periodically so they can see the latest advice and settings from the newest templates.
