Just an idea to make sure multiple worker messages are obvious, as one might be used to the green background being there and not notice it. My suggestion is to adjust the saturation of the background color based on how close (percentage-wise) it is to its expiry date, so expiring messages will be closer to grey background than green. This way newer messages will be immediately obvious from old ones.
