ReaProphet is an open-source editor, patch librarian, SysEx manager, and project-recall system for the Sequential Prophet-5 and Prophet-10 Rev4, built for REAPER.
It is designed to make working with the hardware feel as close as practical to using a software instrument inside a DAW while preserving the character and workflow of the Prophet itself.
- Complete Prophet program editing from a scalable custom interface
- Normal, Stack, and Split Program A/B workflows
- Independent Program A and Program B editing, locations, references, and dirty states
- Project persistence for Normal and Stack/Split sounds
- Explicit, verified Restore Prophet recall
- Searchable hardware patch library
- SysEx program and bank import/export
- Program, Pair, and bank saving with hardware verification
- Automatic backups before major stored-memory operations
- Favorites, categories, imported banks, and local patch-library storage
- Windows and macOS support through REAPER
- Sequential Prophet-5 Rev4 or Prophet-10 Rev4
- REAPER
- Bidirectional MIDI connection between REAPER and the Prophet
- A separate audio connection from the Prophet to your audio interface
- Prophet MIDI settings configured for NRPN and SysEx communication
- The included ReaProphet companion helper script for disk-based library, backup, import/export, and preference features
- In REAPER, choose Options → Show REAPER resource path in Explorer/Finder.
- Copy the ReaProphet
.jsfxfile into the REAPEREffectsfolder. - Copy the companion
.luahelper into the REAPERScriptsfolder. - In REAPER, open Actions → Show action list.
- Choose ReaScript: Load, select the helper script, and run it.
- Add ReaProphet to a MIDI track.
- Route that track's MIDI Hardware Output to the Prophet.
- Create a separate monitored audio-return track for the Prophet's audio output.
- Match the MIDI channel in ReaProphet and on the Prophet.
See the ReaProphet User Manual for complete installation, configuration, and workflow instructions.
ReaProphet communicates directly with external synthesizer hardware. It can change the Prophet's temporary edit buffer, Global settings, active program parameters, operating mode, and other hardware state.
When you deliberately use commands such as Save Program, Save Pair, bank writing, or confirmed patch replacement, ReaProphet can permanently overwrite stored Prophet program memory.
Back up important programs and banks. Confirm MIDI routing, channels, source locations, and write destinations before approving hardware writes.
By downloading, installing, copying, modifying, distributing, or using ReaProphet, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted LICENSE_AGREEMENT.txt. If you do not accept those terms, do not use the software.
ReaProphet saves the complete sound state with the REAPER project or FX preset.
When REAPER restores that state, ReaProphet reconstructs the controls, program names, locations, modified status, and any active Stack or Split setup locally. It does not automatically change the physical Prophet.
Use Restore Prophet when you are ready to transmit and verify the saved Normal sound or complete Program A/B pair on the hardware.
If the Prophet is turned off, disconnected, or its MIDI port is closed while REAPER remains open, the MIDI connection may no longer function correctly.
Restart REAPER with the Prophet powered on before attempting hardware recall or other verified communication.
