Attendees: Ali Smith, Anna Aitchison, CJ Yuan, Daniel Wagner-Hall, Jay Meyer, Karen Klein, Léon McGregor

### ❗Actions from last time

- [ ] Barath (Carry-over): look at tic-tac-toe workshop explaining the breaking down of the problem
- [ ] CJ: look into a workshop around structuring code around the idea of testability (Is the [Building a ToDo List App using ES Modules](https://github.com/cjyuan/Module-Data-Groups/tree/todo-new/Sprint-3/todo-list) sufficient?)
- [x] Jay: Move module-level Prep into Sprint-1 prep, and trim the module-level & Sprint-1 preps in Module-Structuring-and-Testing-Data
- [ ] Daniel (Carry-over): Find out if we can get an AI note-taker
- [x] CJ: Prepare a Google Sheets exercise to replace Step 3 accordingly
- [ ] Anna: Finish off GenAI ITD Step
- [ ] Barath (Carry-over): Reach out to Chris Owen about [AI code review](https://github.com/ChrisOwen101/CodingCoach/).
- [ ] CJ (+ Ali) (Carry-over): Put together draft self-review PR exercises.
- [ ] CJ (Carry-over): Write a ticket to remove Code In Place for the next ITP, and substitute with a self-learn "try a Codewars in Python" workshop/backlog, and discuss.

### 📝 Agenda points

#### Self-review PR exercises

CJ shared [a draft](https://github.com/cjyuan/Module-Data-Flows/blob/book-library-feedback/debugging/book-library/feedback.md)

Ali wondered whether we want very exercise-specific feedback or something more general.

Maybe we can introduce a more general "Look at your code before making the PR" (including possibly linking to the [style guide](https://curriculum.codeyourfuture.io/guides/reviewing/style-guide/)) and introduce exercise-specific guides where we have them?

Possibly a PR auto-commenter could be helpful. But don't want to be too spammy and desensitise people. Ideally want it to be targeted.

We need to keep focusing on conveying _understanding_ rather than just instructions - they need to understand why something is a problem, not just follow an instruction to follow it.

#### Intro to Léon

Léon has joined CYF as the [Community Education Lead in the Scotland region](https://codeyourfuture.io/community-minded-lead-teacher/) with a focus on giving trainees feedback and helping volunteers to become better teachers.

#### AI Strategy

Daniel has put together a [draft AI strategy for CYF](https://docs.google.com/document/d/16ZFFVPRQ6JL6-kpVdwXndQ1zUo0i9kvP5fQ5c4NE3Nk/edit) - please take a look and leave some comments.

#### Launch Demo Day Feedback

Was really impressive - some of the best projects and demos we've seen at CYF! All of the course changes are paying off - thank you everyone!

People were much better at presenting than in the past, but struggled with the style of answering questions about their demos. (Also, some trainees were asking not amazing questions.) - We should think about how to help people ask and answer questions better after demos.

#### Tony's Problem Solving Workshops

Daniel demo'd [Tony's problem solving workshops](https://deploy-preview-1538--cyf-programming.netlify.app/structuring-data/sprints/1/day-plan/#problem-solving-workshop) - we're all very excited about them.

#### Backlog GitHub Issue Labels

The Size and Priority labels on GitHub issues are probably useful because they help trainees filter in their project boards.

The Topic labels probably are not - we don't use them, that's not how we develop the curriculum. (They used to be useful, but we've changed how we work.) Daniel will clear some out.

#### When will ITD and ITP be done and ready to be uploaded to the dashboard

https://deploy-preview-1548--cyf-itd.netlify.app/ should have all the info needed to update the dashboard.
