Is there an algorithm to generate a mesh from a polyline + cross-section? #9203
we do have the following PR #5609 that needs to be cleaned up (but last time I checked worked). I can give it a try if you provide me some polylines. However, there is a limitation, polylines must be in planes with a normal being one of the axis. We have another version with arbitrary planes that is not yet finished. We have nothing for general polylines.
Thanks — this might be my wording.
In plain terms: how to turn a 3D polyline into a tube.
More precisely, I want to generate a watertight surface triangle mesh by sweeping a closed cross‑section (e.g., a circle/polygon) along a 3D polyline centerline (including corners).
Is there a CGAL algorithm/package for this, or a recommended algorithm?

Here is a video demonstrating the kind of result I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVnZjHHz7uw.

Then I guess this branch might help:

This approach may not handle more complex bends or highly curved paths reliably.

@chudonghao Could you please share input data for such complex bends / highly curved paths?
