The Entity Interface works pretty much like an Access Extension Pipe that attaches to entities located in front of it (that intersect with the 1x1x1 cube in front).
Note: If there are multiple entities, it will chose one that has the capability that is asked for by devices interacting with the Entity Interface.
The following list of vanilla entities are known to be accessible by this device, however there are probably lots of modded entities that can be accessed as well:
- Players give access to their inventory. The armor slots and offhand are mapped to the sides of the block and the main inventory including hot-bar is mapped to top and bottom (this mapping is given by Forge's player capability implementation and was not a decision made by the mod author).
- Mobs and Armor Stands give access to their worn armor through the sides and to their held items through top and bottom.
- Chest Minecarts and Hopper Minecarts give access to their inventory (on all sides).
The following properties can be tweaked via config:
-
entity_interface_tickspecifies the interval in game-ticks, in which the device will rescan the area for new entities, default is: 10 ticks (0.5 seconds).
