New EmulationStation conflict

I had installed the Child friendly EmulationStation, and then updated the retropie setup script as well as all packages. The new ES has a black loading logo (which I like) and now I have the x button mapped to give me a random game. But it breaks the Child friendly options. When I go into the packages I see it is still installed, but if I update it, it reverts my ES loading logo to white, and the random game options disappear. Is the Child friendly EmulationStation built on an older version, and is there any way to merge the 2?

Hey,
Thanks for trying out the kid-friendly branch.
With all the new developments going on, I havn't had time to update this particular branch, and with the refactoring of the theming coming up, it is unlikely I will anytime soon.
So for now you will have to choose, or merge it yourself. Sorry!

So I guess my next question would be, how do I get rid of it? I keep trying but it blows out a whole bunch of important files.
