Thanks for the log file — I used the actual <pre> blocks from it to reproduce this, but I can't get the formatting to break here.

I pasted the full log.txt (the whole Word document, including the big 20-line <pre class="speedModePanel"> flight table) through the editor with a simulated clipboard text/html, and the <pre> survives intact end to end: all 63k characters and every newline are still in editor.value, the <pre> renders with white-space: pre, 20 lines, correct multi-line height. I checked every path a Word paste can take — Keep (applyStyles), Clean (cleanFromWord), and Insert as text — and none of them collapse the pre whitespace. Same result for a plain HTML paste and for editor.value = ….

So whatever is dropping your formatting isn't in the paste/Word-cleanup code that runs on that HTML. That usually means it's something about the real clipboard the source app puts on the OS (the text/html flavor your browser actually delivers can differ from a saved log), or a browser/OS-specific rendering thing, neither of which I can see from the log alone.

Could you share a minimal runnable repro? Ideally a small self-contained HTML/JS snippet (or a CodePen/JSFiddle) with the exact editor.value or clipboard string that loses its formatting — even just one or two <pre> lines that break is enough. The screen recording is on Google Drive and I can't open it; a couple of before/after screenshots plus the raw pasted HTML would also help. Also, which paste option are you picking in the dialog (Keep / Clean / As text)?

I'll leave this open and marked as not-yet-reproduced until we have something I can run.
