PLASIO hangs on loading

Using either Firefox or Chrome, when loading LAS files it hangs on "Fetching File Name....@xxxMB/S". I have multiple LAS files. Files are relatively small for 120 acre area not larger than 500MB.
They were downloaded from the USGS National Map site and/or also from the state GIS site. There is a green progress bar that begins from the left to the right at the top of the screen which starts and goes very quickly until it stops about midway from the end. I've updated both chrome and Firefox. There are no extensions loaded.

I've tried using the upload method of the browse and I've tried using the drag & drop method.
I've tried using LAS files and also ZLAS for the same files.
The problem is reproducible in both Firefox and Chrome. (Please don't ask me to test it in another browser)
Windows 10 Pro
I have 2 different ISP's here and I've tested both of them. T-Mobile Home Internet and Optimum Cable. I don't really think it's a connection issue but it's possible.

I've not seen anything here recently dated so I hope this doesn't go into LaLa lnd. lol

FYI
Appears to be an issue with using files of LAS versions > 1.3.
You can see this by inspecting the browser console for JS errors.
