Error in reading worldclim data in R

Hello,
When I try to import worldclim data "https://github.com/vdicolab/hsdm/tree/master/data/raster/bioclim/current/grd" in R, I receive the below error. Could you please help me to solve the problem?

Hey,
1- Make sure you have the latest version of the different packages.
2- Make sure you have both the .grd and .gri files in the data folder.
3- Make sure the downloaded data are appropriate (no issues with the download from GitH) because the error looks like the file is not in a suitable format.
=> it should work then. I just tried on the same data and it worked well for me.

BTW, use the latest version of biomod2 on R-forge (the CRAN is a little bit out-dated for the moment).

Thank you for your answer but I have the latest version of R and all of the packages are up-to-date.
I have two files for each data (.grd+.gri) and all files are downloaded from https://github.com/vdicolab/hsdm/tree/master/data/raster/bioclim/current/grd
I also cannot open these files in ArcGIS!

This is really weird.
Anyway, these data are the same than on the Worldclim website (v1.2). Go there and download them directly from the website. There might be some issues with you firewall or something like that.

Could you please tell me the original size of the files?
On my computer, for example, bio3.grd is only 47 KB and bio3.gri is 40 KB. I think these sizes are too small for raster data.

there are pretty small indeed. 90Ko for .gdr (bio11) and <1Ko for .gri

How did you download the data from GitHub? Did you clone the entire project or did you save each file separately (which usually does not work well).

OK, that's probably why.
Better to go at the vdicolab/hsdm level and you then you have the 'clone or download' option. Download as a zip. Should then work (I hope ;-))
