How can I disable certain markdown rules that I do not want users to be able to utilize within our editor?

Cheers. Am I understanding correctly that in order to get the editor to return markdown output, you need the collaboration stuff? Or is there a renderMarkdown() available in the base editor?

No, that's currently in development. Officially supporting markdown is the next feature on our roadmap.

Something a project of mine needs semi-urgently, and currently looking for alternatives :)

you could look into working with prosemirror-markdown or just use a markdown parser to transform html to markdown but that wouldn't support custom nodes in the meanwhile.

My plan is to release in the following weeks.
