Update 43.20251118: Stable (F43.20251118) introduce many issues on MSI laptops. (Nvidia GPUS)

Hi, I'm not familiar with reporting bugs, I'll provide all the information I can.

Me and another user on Discord have the exact same issue with the latest update, on the exact same hardware.
MSI Katana 15 :
Intel Corei7-13620H
Nvidia RTX 4070

Current image deployed :

After reboot, Bazzite loading screen shows up, but takes a lot of time. (more than a minute for me)

After that, it enters emergency mode, and prompt to press enter multiple times.
It then boots to desktop, but :

-Sound doesn't work. It says it couldn't connect to the sound service.
-No network, save for ethernet. Wifi isn't detected.
-Plasma can hang and restart itself randomly.

• Trying to reboot or shutdown freezes during Bazzite logo, forcing to completely power off.
  -Rebooting again either gets back to the desktop normally (albeit with a long time to boot), or enters emergency mode again.

I've pinned my current image (the one from 11/02) for now.

Hi, similar device, same issue. Have also similar issues on a kinoite vm on a different notebook with fedora workstation, so it might be a general fedora issue.

A bump, and some updates: after some digging around, it seems the recent issues with MSI laptops and mobo come from the firmware not playing nice with the kernel. A fix suggested across multiple forums (including Fedora's) would be to reset the firmware by clearing the CMOS. Haven't tried it yet, but a possible solution.

Clearing CMOS may help with WiFi and Audio, but I am not sure if it fixes the boot crashes completely.

I am having this very same issue on my MSI Laptop.

MSI Stealth GS77 laptop. (Stealth GS77 12UE-231) .

-Intel 12900H
-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

Installed Bazzite using (other laptop, nvidia, KDE, desktop) image from Bazzite.

Everything installed and worked correctly....but saw message about being month out of date to did update:

ujust update.

Which seemed to work ..no errors...but on boot (ostree0) I get stuck on the following screen:

Hard reset laptop, picked OSTREE1 and did rollback for now.

Also running into the same issues (wifi & audio down, booting takes a while, etc.) on an MSI GE76 Raider 11UE. For now, I've just rolled back to Bazzite 42 (and have locked in on said version by following the documentation on this page: https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/).

Since I know how to switch between the two comfortably, I'll try to debug the issue on my own time and give updates when I can.

Same exact problem on my MSI GE-76 Raider 11UH when I updated my system from an older 42 release to the new stable release 43.20251127.

Rebasing to version 42.20251019 is the only fix so far. Here is how to do that: Rebase Guide
