Questions about integration tests

I just got my first Twig integration test to pass and I have the following questions:

• Are the contents of the .test files an standard used in other tools? I think I've seen something similar but now I can't remember it.
• I'm having trouble with the line endings: is the only option to change them in the .test file? (I'm on Windows using CRLF but the test outputs the actual result with LF)
• Related to that: the expected value includes a new line, so to prevent adding that to the actual field I have to include right after the expect section in the same line, like so: --EXPECT--myvalues
• Does Twig do any sort of matching between the names of the .test files and and the (PhpUnit) name of the test, or does it run all the .test files through all the defined test classes?
• Can the testLegacyIntegration method be disabled somehow?

I realized I can use the flag -exclude-group=legacy to avoid running those tests, so one less question.
