favicon not changing

Edit: Not sure what I did but it's now working.

I've added my favicons to my root /static folder, and while it's changed when I run hugo server on my local, I noticed that when I publish and push it to my repo, it doesn't change. It still shows your original favicons. I've followed your documentation and I've searched around. I even looked at my other hugo sites but when I include the param code you provide, the favicon disappears completely!

here is my repo for reference --- I don't have any content in there but I don't think that would affect the favicon.

I did see someone else posted about the favicon but no real question was asked there :(
