Add progress or visual indicator/ timeouts for time taken to execute a probe

- it's clear it's executing a probe, but unclear how long it will still take or if it's stuck
- Some probes take long time, but you don't know whether you are stuck or it has crashed 
- for long probes, it says it's executing, but doesn't "update" what's happening for a long time
