FR: release schedules? Guide/readme section on branches?

Last release is more than a year ago, and tidymodels has a lot of new features added in. When will the next release be? Especially the appendix part could use some hand on completion, I think.

Also, there are so many branches. Are these being pruned/cleaned regularly? Can there be some kind of guide on this?

We've been updating this book gradually as new features have come to tidymodels, for example in #368. We are planning for incremental changes and maintenance, and do not have plans currently for a next release in the sense of these releases. I'm sure we would do that if we ever talked about a second edition, but until then, you can expect gradual maintenance and updates but probably no major releases.

Do you have specific feedback on this appendix? We'd love to hear more about what you noticed that was out of date or missing.

We have not prioritized cleaning up branches, no, since it's not a problem for our processes. If you have a specific question about a branch, we are happy to answer it!
