How to enable basic username, password authentication for Thanos receive /api/v1/receive API

I have tried enabling it as mentioned in https://thanos.io/tip/operating/https.md/. But it is enabling authentication for http port. But for remote write port (/api/v1/receive) it still not enabled authentication. How to get this working?

Is this supported for receive API? I believe its important to apply authentication for remote write clients to push data. Any help is appreciated.
