Can't set environment variables

flatseal-2.3.1 on fedora Silverblue - UK English Keyboard.

When attempting to set an environment variable the "=" (equal) character is substituted with the '-' (dash, hyphen) character in the setting field e.g.:

PRUSA_SLICER_DARK_THEME=true

Shows as:

PRUSA_SLICER_DARK_THEME-true

@neildarlow I can't reproduce it, can you provide more context or precise steps to reproduce it?

Also, can you try the version from Flathub?

This is the flatpak from flathub.

My initial test was fedora Workstation 41 with Cinnamon DE. I've just tried adding an environment variable on fedora Silverblue 42 (GNOME) and the environment variable entry field disappears partway through entering the variable name.

It just seems the environment variable handling is broken but in different ways for the two systems.

I can not reproduce the =- bug from above, but I can say that I saw sporadic arbitrary deletion when editing env variables. I have no clear STR yet. I can say it happens when when typing FOO (invalid) -> FOO= (invalid) -> FOO=b (valid) because the invalid warning disappears and the user-changed warning appears. I it also seems to depend on cursor position (hover). So it looks like an input focus jump.

@neildarlow can you share an screenshot? So I can at least see what other variables are there.

What I suspect is that, there could be another invalid variable already set (local or global) that is already messing up this, but I need to reproduce it for understanding.

Regarding the entry field disappearing, I think @rusty-snake is correct about it losing focus. The application search field becomes the focus for some reason.

No other variables set as screenshots below show (fedora Workstation 41 Cinnamon and fedora Silverblue 42 GNOME respectively). Also no environment variables added at "All Applications" level:

I suspect this could be the same issue as #827, since I can't reproduce, I would appreciate if someone can try this PR #828
