eat: Claude-code buffer freeze after hours (> 1000 rows)

After using for hours, and rows > 1000, emacs window sometime freeze during claude code running on code change. Wonder if anyone experience this before? Is there a work around? Thanks in advance.

See Eat-specification Customization, and in particular see what the value of eat-term-scrollback-size is. Very large values or especially nil (unlimited) can cause severe performance issues.

Also make sure claude-code-eat-never-truncate-claude-buffer is nil. I've marked this variable as obsolete, as it can cause severe performance issues (it sets eat-term-scrollback-size to nil).

Just fyi, here is something I'm experimenting with to avoid the issues running Claude inside eat or vterm: Matisse. It's very bare-bones and alpha at the moment, and has its own tradeoffs.
