Status of New Search Functionality - question

Hi.

(to Martin and the full development team).

Without sounding impolite, I would like to know what is the status of the new search functionality.
The discussion was triggered more than one year ago and I personally have not heard about how is evolving or if it is evolving.

The reason for that request is because my promise of this new functionality is what convinced the most critical of my colleagues to use "material for mkdocs" for business documentation. Based on my own assumptions I had told them that it would be "available soon", being the word "soon" something open for interpretation of everyone. I know this is my problem and I own full responsibility of the expectations I gave to my colleagues.

But a kind of orientation about the timeline would help us to better understand what to do and in which direction to go.
