Strict always in force?

Is there a way to disable strict parsing in Nokogiri::XML::ParseOptions? If not, why do we need constant STRICT, and why is "option" strict reported in inspect ?

Nokogiri::XML::ParseOptions.new
# => #<Nokogiri::XML::ParseOptions:0x000002070179cc28 ... strict>
