Hi @JimKillock, thanks for the feedback! We definitely get the idea of bridging or otherwise connecting native accounts like this. Lots of people would like it, there's a clear need! It would make Bridgy Fed significantly more complicated, though, and brittle in lots of non-obvious ways, so right now we don't have any plans to try it. Sorry for the bad news. Maybe check out some of the more sophisticated cross-posting clients, they might be able to do this? |

It would be nice to be able to map a non-bridged account eg
@[email protected]
to@something.bluesky.com
just for the purposes of bridged interactions / mentions, so that:I believe that this already takes place where both are bridged accounts, perhaps it would be possible for users to ask to alias non-bridged accounts in the same way.
This would help solve some of the user experience issues mentioned at #1799
