High: Executing a plan (Yes option) clears conversation context, losing the plan it just wrote!

Easy to reproduce:

1. Enter plan mode.
2. Request a change.
3. Upon receiving the plan, press the green "Yes," button.
4. Claude will respond with confusion: "This is a fresh conversion - I don't have context from a previous conversation."

Tested on several projects, same results.

Fundamentally breaks plan mode, kinda making the whole Happy Code useless since plan mode is critical for complicated changes.

Confirming same issue — different trigger

I'm seeing the same context-loss behaviour, but triggered by tool call interrupts rather than plan mode approval.

What happens

Mid-conversation, a tool call gets interrupted (possibly by the UI itself, not a deliberate user cancel). Happy then kills the Claude Code process and spawns a brand new session, losing all context. Claude responds as if it's a fresh conversation.

Log evidence

From ~/.happy/logs/2026-02-23-07-31-07-pid-51205.log:

The SessionStart hook fires with "source":"startup", confirming it's a completely fresh Claude Code process, not a resume.

Root cause (shared with this issue)

The underlying problem seems to be that Happy's remote mode kills and respawns the Claude Code process on certain UI actions (plan approval, tool interrupts, possibly others), rather than continuing within the existing session. The new process never receives --resume, so all context is lost.

Issue #685 confirms that spawnSession() never passes --resume — so once the process drops, there's no recovery path.

Environment

• Happy CLI: 0.13.0
• Claude Code: 2.1.45
• macOS Darwin 25.3.0 (arm64)
• autoCompactEnabled: false (verified — this is not a compaction issue)

This is happening multiple times per day, making longer sessions via the Happy UI unreliable.
