map3d_crosshair_distance doesn't do anything

Steps to Reproduce and Observed Behavior

1. Enable said option in advanced settings
2. Nothing happens

Expected Behavior

2'. The distance to the thing the crosshair is pointing at is printed next to the crosshair.

Yeah I haven't reimplemented that feature just yet as I wasn't sure anyone used it. What do you find it useful for?

I can add another setting to resize the crosshair that should be simple enough

Not too useful but it is nice to be able to get feeback about distances and depth besides just eyeballing it out.

That and sometimes it helps with seeing exactly what is being selected without necessarily clicking on it or enabling highlights.
