Mounting additional volumes to subdirectories

Hi,

We are using sig-storage-local-static-provisioner for provisioning local PVs. I'm using UserVolumeConfig to mount and format additional volumes, but it looks like I can only mount additional volumes under /var/mnt/<volume-name>.

Is it possible to mount volumes deeper, e.g. /var/mnt/local-disks/<volume-name>?

No, but usually you can configure any workload to mount any path from the host into the container under any different path.

Sorry for a late reply. My use case here is that I'd like to group different types of volumes under the same path. For example, all local volumes (e.g. NVME drives attached on the host) would be mounted to /var/mnt/local-drives as subdirectories (one for each volume) and any network/shared volumes would be mounted to /var/mnt/shared-drives, again as subdirectories.

That would allow me to have two storage classes defined for the local static provisioner, one for fast local volumes, and one for network volumes. Workloads would then be able to request PVs based on their storage requirements.

Without the ability to group volumes by type/performance level, I don't see a way to accomplish this in a generic way...

I see your point, but right now we don't allow custom mount paths for other consistency and functional reasons.
