Alerts on new threadmarks

Alerts are great, everyone love them.

Fairly straightforward to implement, but I would like to kick the alert generation into a deferred task which then pumps out alerts.

So creating a new threadmark will trigger alerts to anyone watching the thread?

Yes.

Threadmarks are being used to signify 'something important' has been indexed, and users have been asking for some way to be notified of that.

I've got thread starter alerts (custom addon), but it doesn't solve it properly because it makes guesses on what it considered significant or important.

a thumb up from me for this feature. Its also view peopel it and lets newones think "He! - whats that? Let me look at this ..." and so, i think more peopel in a forum will use it. ;)
