ctrl+shift+up does not work in emacs after reconnect

What happened

With emacs open after reconnecting to the session. control+shift+up does not trigger previous command from history in emacs terminal but scrolls entire screen instead.
Restarting emacs helps.

To Reproduce

1. Open emacs
2. start emacs shell
3. ctrl+shift+up properly goes to previous bash command
4. disconect/reconnect
5. key shortcut no longer works

Does this problem persist if you close out of emacs and then open a new emacs session? If it does, does it persist after running clear and then trying again?

I'm wondering if this is something persistant about the connection or if we are somehow pushing emacs into a weird state.

Restarting emacs solves the issue until next reconnect

What terminal emulator are you using? It might be that emacs is talking with the emulator and getting itself into a mode that we don't understand and correctly restore on reconnect. There are some known issues with kitty related to this.
