I see why you think this change would be good but In my opinion it's better the way it is at the moment and my only change that I should right a feature request about is to have the Session ID as a link that if clicked on will open the Session app with a pop up asking if you want to add a new contact, because even in the Session app you wouldn't need to copy and paste the ID anymore which would be good because most people I meet don't no how to copy and paste a link

Here's a example of my idea and on how I would be able to send someone my link on any app and how in one click it could open the Session app or even if it was to be scanned by the default phone camera app it could open the Session app

In my opinion the Session ID + QR code work very well if we have an anti spam system (a multi account or a pairing code).

I have also the necessity to verify the string reading it in a well readable format.
I also believe that systems can coexist, leaving the user to use what best suits the needs of the moment.

In the end you just added a new way, well done, but the other two are convenient for other reasons. Why remove or replace them?
